Amongst the famous Italian foods is Mushroom Pesto Lasagna which is a vegetarian’s dream come true. When made with fresh egg pasta instead of dried lasagna noodles it can be an amazing treat for the taste buds. Top it off with parmesan cheese and you have one of the most famous Italian dishes.
Italian Fish Soup
Italy’s Fish Soup with Gremolata has become a world wide hit as well. Within Italy however the soup is prepared in many different ways in different regions.
Italian Spaghetti
The most popular food item to rise out of Italy is by far the Spaghetti and Meatballs phenomenon. This is a hot favorite for children and adults alike. It is easy to make and great fun to indulge in while being healthy at the same time.

Of Course one of the most popular meal of Italians is Pizza.Here are some types of pizza's.

Margherita - named for Queen Margherita, it is basic, light and a true classic, with light tomato, mozzarella, basil and extra virgin olive oil as its topping.
Marinara - tomato, garlic, olive oil and oregano
Napolitana - tomato, mozzarella, anchovy, oregano and olive oil
Alla Fiamma - tomato, onions, oregano, hot pepper, olives and olive oil
Quattro Stagione - divided into 4 sections, these sections can often represent anyone's favorite 4 ingredients, but the classic would be tomatoes over the whole pizza, then one section would be mozzarella, another artichoke hearts, one prosciutto, and the last mushrooms and/or olives and olive oil drizzled all over
Quattro Fromaggi - literally means 4 cheese, usually mozzarella, provolone, pecorino romano, and in the US you will see cheddar
Capriocciosa - Tomato, mozzarella, anchovies, oregano, olives, artichoke hearts and mushrooms
Pomadora - "tomato pie" no cheese, very light, perhaps some light grated cheese
Pizza Alla Cozze - pizza topped with mussels
Alla Romana - topped with Anchovies
Pizza Alla Alici - topped with Sardines
Al Funghi - Fresh mushrooms
Ortalano - Grilled vegetables
